Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using StrudelMed ("the Service"), operated by Strudel Academy LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Accounts

You can play without signing up. We create an anonymous account so your progress can be saved, and you can link an email address or Google account later. You are responsible for keeping access to your email and sign-in methods secure. You must not share your account or use another person's account without permission.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service.
• Manipulate scores or the leaderboard, including by calling our systems directly or using scripts.
• Impersonate any person or entity.

We may remove scores, reset stats, or remove accounts from the leaderboard if we believe they were not earned through normal play.

5. Your Content

You keep ownership of the display name and bio you add to your profile. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display them on the Service, including on the leaderboard if you opt in. Your content must not be offensive, hateful, sexually explicit, harassing, misleading, or infringe anyone else's rights. We may edit or remove content that breaks these rules without notice.

6. Educational Content

All cases on StrudelMed are fictional or composite teaching scenarios. They do not contain real patient information, and any resemblance to a real person is coincidental. Medicine changes quickly, and content may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. If you find an error, please tell us.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on StrudelMed, including but not limited to text, cases, teaching points, graphics, and software, is the property of Strudel Academy LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial study. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent, except for sharing your own results with the share buttons we provide.

8. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email support@strudelacademy.com with a description of the work, where it appears on the Service, your contact information, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized. We will review the request and remove infringing content.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service includes content and features from third parties, such as embedded YouTube videos and sign in with Google. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

10. Disclaimers and No Medical Advice

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any content on the Service, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or free of errors.

StrudelMed is an educational tool only and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. All cases, clues, teaching points, walkthroughs, diagnoses, study resources, and other content are intended solely for the educational benefit of medical students and learners. The content is not a substitute for professional medical judgment, and you must not rely on it for actual clinical decision-making or patient care. Use of the Service does not create a doctor-patient relationship.

Always consult a qualified, licensed healthcare professional for any questions regarding a medical condition or treatment. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of anything you have read on StrudelMed. If you believe you or someone else may be experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Strudel Academy LLC and its members, employees, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of fifty US dollars ($50) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Strudel Academy LLC from any claims, losses, or expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time and may ask us to delete your account as described in our Privacy Policy. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will change the date at the top of this page, and if a change is significant we will post a notice on the Service or email account holders before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

16. General

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms, but we may transfer ours as part of a merger, sale, or reorganization.
